SEBS-GMA is a high-performance reactive compatibilizer produced using patented technology that grafts glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) onto the SEBS backbone. This product is also guaranteed to be free of plasticizing oil, offering high reactivity and storage stability. The epoxy groups (derived from GMA) at the ends of its molecular chains are highly reactive and can react with various functional groups (such as carboxyl, amino, and hydroxyl groups), playing a unique role of "in-situ compatibilization" and "chemical bridging" in polymer blends. It is particularly suitable for demanding applications requiring strong interfacial bonding.
Product Appearance: Light yellow rubber pellets
Product Features:
1. High-Reactivity Epoxy Functional Groups: High grafting efficiency of GMA provides abundant epoxy reaction sites, enabling chemical bonding with polymers or fillers containing carboxyl or amino groups.
2. Free of Plasticizing Oil: Ensures no oil exudation during high-temperature processing and use, maintaining long-term stability and a dry surface of the final products.
3. Strong Interfacial Bonding: Forms robust chemical bridges between incompatible polymer phases through chemical reactions, significantly improving interfacial adhesion and effectively transferring stress.
Exceptional Compatibilization Effect: Offers stronger compatibilization capability than SEBS-MAH for blends with greater polarity differences (e.g., polyolefin/polyester, polyolefin/polyamide).
4. Enhanced Overall Performance: While improving compatibility, it significantly increases the toughness, tensile strength, and thermal aging resistance of alloys or composites.
Typical Applications:
1. Specialty TPE Cable Compounds and Elastomers: Particularly suitable for high-demand cable compound formulations requiring bonding with polar materials or filled with large amounts of highly polar halogen-free flame retardants (such as magnesium hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide). It enhances interfaces through chemical reactions to prevent performance degradation.
2. High-Performance Engineering Plastic Alloys: An ideal compatibilizer for reactive blends such as PP/PA, PE/PA, and PET/polyolefin alloys, significantly improving their mechanical properties and phase stability.
3. Glass Fiber/Mineral-Filled Polyolefin Modification: Improves the interfacial bonding between fillers (e.g., glass fiber, talc) and polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE) matrices, enhancing the strength, stiffness, and impact resistance of composites.
4. Adhesive Layer Materials: Can be used as a bonding layer component in multi-layer co-extruded films or sheets requiring strong adhesion.
Recommended Dosage:
The dosage of SEBS-GMA depends on the polarity differences and reaction requirements of the target system. The general recommended dosage ranges from 2% to 8% of the total formulation. For systems with extremely poor interfacial compatibility or requiring strong chemical bonding, it is advisable to determine the optimal dosage through testing.
Packaging and Storage:
The product is packed in paper-plastic composite bags, 25 kg per bag. During transportation, avoid moisture, contamination, and direct sunlight. Store in a ventilated, dry, and cool place. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of production. Do not store together with flammable or corrosive materials, and keep away from ignition sources.
